![]() SEA-SHANTIES FROM A LEFT-WING ACTIVIST AND NORMANDY LANDING VETERAN JIM RADFORD WILL BE AT THE CLÉ CLUB THIS WEDNESDAY 19th SEPT. Singer of traditional sea-shanties and folk songs, composer of songs, political activist for decades, ex-seaman and NORMANDY D-DAY VETERAN .... Although he is proud of his participation as a boy in the Normandy Landings, where he was crew on one of the tugs taking equipment in under enemy fire, Jim Radford has been an anti-war, anti-imperialist activist for many decades, from the Committee of One Hundred, through to the Vietnam, Irish, Iraq, Afghanistan wars. He also helped families occupy empty properties and took part in a great number of other social and political struggles. |
