The Repudiate the Debt Campaign will be holding a lunchtime protest, 12:45 to 2 p.m., on Tuesday 1 November outside the Department of Finance in Upper Merrion Street to protest against the handing over of €700,000,000 of the Irish people’s money to unguaranteed and unsecured bond-holders.

Repudiate the Debt Campaign The Repudiate the Debt Campaign will be holding a lunchtime protest, 12:45 to 2 p.m., on Tuesday 1 November outside the Department of Finance in Upper Merrion Street to protest against the handing over of €700,000,000 of the Irish people’s money to unguaranteed and unsecured bond-holders. We consider this a transfer of wealth from the pockets and wage packets of Irish working people, the sick, unemployed, pensioners, and children. This demonstration will be part of a national day of protest around the country to highlight this robbery of the people’s wealth. Organise your own event: mount your own protest in the main street of your village, town, or city. Contact your local radio stations to draw attention to this affront to democracy. Don’t leave it up to others, or just sit back and complain. Every voice counts; every placard raised is an act of saying No to this robbery of our people. No party-political banners or flags. Tuesday 1 November Department of Finance (Merrion Street, Upper) 12:45 to 2 p.m

How Low can they GO? Read more http://wp.me/pKzXa-hU During the warmer summer months, Minister for “Social Protection”, Joan Burton(Labour) announced cuts to the home benefits package for pensioners and social welfare beneficiaries. The allocations of electricity units and gas units so important for home heating were reduced by between 20% and 25%. Age Action Ireland has stated “Research on fuel poverty and older people by the Dublin Institute of Technology and the Institute of Public Health — funded by CARDI and due to be published in the coming weeks — shows that during the winter of 2006/7 there were 1,281 excess winter deaths*. Of these, the vast majority were older people (1,216 were aged over-65). How many preventable deaths will take place this winter? Seamus Healy TD has tabled a Parliamentary Question to Minister Burton for Oral Answer on Nov 23 asking the Labour Party Deputy Leader to accede to the petition of Age Action Ireland The latest figures from CSO show that the nett financial assets of Irish households increased by 27 billion euro in 2009. Not a penny in tax on these assets has been imposed by Labour in government and 700 million Euro is to be paid to ANGLO shortly Homeless charities say demand for their services has increased by up to 40% in the current year. Yet HSE has just announced cuts to services to the homeless. Kathleen Lynch (Labour) is Minister for State at the Department of Health and children. Please sign the Age Action Petition below Paddy Healy 086-4183732 From Age Action Ireland Sign petition to help protect vulnerable older people this winter Wed, 26/10/2011 – 15:23 Age Action is urging the Government to reverse cuts to the free gas and electricity units for pensioners, amid growing concern at the severe hardship which the cuts will have for the most vulnerable of older people this winter. Read Full Statement http://www.ageaction.ie/sign-petition-help-protect-vuln...inter How Low Can They Go? Hundreds of older people die each winter in Ireland because they cannot afford to keep themselves warm. Lives could be saved if the Government reversed its decision to cut their electricity and gas units. I call on the Government to reverse the cuts to the free gas/electricity units available under the Household Benefits Package, given the increased hardship it will cause for older people on low incomes. what can we expect from a 'Labour' party that has just picked up the 'democratic' kingship at a multiple of the average working wage for cutting ribbons and delivering monitored platitudes..a political parish priest to replace the discredited Roman curia as they prepare to scalp us for Christmas rather than follow the Icelandic lead, or go for the Greek solution.

I can hear Connolly's chains rattling in his 'Labour' dungeon. Shameless. And Micky D is the fucking 'left' wing. Flush 'em.

The real money is in the IFSC and other 'offshore' locations. Part of this should be a global campaign to root out tax havens and make the rich pay their share.
