Here is a statement from the Iraq Freedom Congress on the fifth anniversary of the imperialist occupation of Iraq. The IFC wants to expel the US and its allied forces and dissolve all political, economic, military and paramilitary institutions set up by the US. It also wants to dissolve and disarm all armed and paramilitary groups linked to Islamic forces and lawless groups and confiscate all their weapons, resources and funds. The IFC stands for a Secular Democratic Iraq. The 9th of April marks the fifth anniversary of the occupation. It is the anniversary of the genocide in which more than one million lives were lost and 4 million others were made homeless inside and ouside of Iraq. Ludu Daw Amar has died . Her name means 'Of the people', she was a publisher who published a pro-independence Political Journal entitled the Ludu Daily news in the 1940s. The journal was suppressed eventually by government censors, but she continued to criticise the Burma/Myanmar Junta until near her death. Aung San Suu Kyi had flowers laid at her graveside- in Memoriam. Ludo published on Women's Issues and culture.
