There is a lot of outright propaganda at the moment about the Russian operation to clear Ukraine of the Neo-Nazis and no it is definitely not the start of World War 3 as some outlets are suggesting. So it is against this background that it we bring attention to this article written by Mike Whitney giving his view on why the USA & it's vassal states UK and Europe have spent the last 8 years trying to provoke the Russian bear until finally it acted. The Ukrainian crisis has nothing to do with Ukraine. It’s about Germany and, in particular, a pipeline that connects Germany to Russia called Nord Stream 2. Washington sees the pipeline as a threat to its primacy in Europe and has tried to sabotage the project at every turn. Even so, Nord Stream has pushed ahead and is now fully-operational and ready-to-go. Once German regulators provide the final certification, the gas deliveries will begin. German homeowners and businesses will have a reliable source of clean and inexpensive energy while Russia will see a significant boost to their gas revenues. From the outset, the composition of the Defence Forces Commission was flawed. The list of members does not represent the citizens of Ireland in a balanced way. Of the fifteen commission members, two-thirds are pro-EU ex-military men and officials favouring expanding military spending; people who benefit from enhanced career opportunities, have vested interests in remuneration, careers, promotions, salaries, pensions and medals, resulting from an enlarged military budget allocation. Foreign agents, Haakon Bruun-Hanssen a Norwegian, Anja Dalgaard-Nielsen a Dane and Esa Pulkkinen a Finn, should have no place on neutral Ireland’s Defence Forces Commission. read full story / add a comment

We all need to get to our local TDs Constituency Office and ask them to Vote NO to the renewal of Emergency Powers when that comes up in the Dáil before March 31st deadline.
