meath / rights, freedoms and repression / event notice Sunday May 15, 2005 23:51 by Con Connor
On Tuesday 21st and Wednesday 22nd June we will have the Full Moon on the Summer Solstice celebrated on tara as we express our right of free association and assembley for spiritual purposes at our ancesteral temples. Druidschool has set up tara Pilgrimage 2005 - to lift the priests curse on tara and to replace it with a Celtic Druids Blessing. We will do this over a 24-hour event from Sunrise on Tuesday 21 to Sunrise on Wednesday 22, which will also include Moonrise and Moonset. We will lift the curse (8pm Tue) with drumming; barefoot dancing with the crystal fire from the pilgrim's quartz's and then with many others - we will offer a Celtic Druids Blessing for tara. Please bring some small kindling, dress in layers and bring a blanket. Bring some rock quartz to this tara Pilgrimage and take a different piece home. The above ceremonies are free and open to all. Details on the link below under tara na Rí. read full story / add a comment
meath / rights, freedoms and repression / event notice Sunday May 15, 2005 23:33 by Con Connor
Full Moon, 23rd May 2005, Monday, tara. This is the last Full Moon “Ritual of Protection” by Druidschool before the Full Moon Summer Solstice tara Pilgrimage 05 on 21/22 June. We will start our sacred fire by 8ish and finish by ten. Meet on the gravel patch beside the Rath of the Synods at 8pm. We will use our native Celtic Irish language during this ceremony with explanations in English. All are welcome to attend this free and open ritual ceremony on tara. We ask that you bring some wood from your hedge or local forest for the sacred fire. Our intention is to express our freedom and our desire is to protect tara and Save tara Valley for the future generations. The valleys and hills beside the Spiritual Jewel of tara are its Landscape Setting. This holistic understanding is what we wish to protect. We wish to preserve and protect this huge intact complex of temples that surround tara. More details on the May Moon and the Solstice Moon and Druidschool are in the link below. read full story / add a comment

The M3 will be tolled twice in County Meath. A commuter for example, traveling from north of Navan hoping to travel on the M3 to work in Lucan or south of the M50 will be forced to pay 3 tolls there and 3 tolls back—6 tolls per day, 30 per week. The entire M3 debate seems to revolve around a controversial 3km at the Hill of tara, and the double tolling of the M3 has largely been ignored by our elected representatives in Dáil Éireann. Using the current M50 toll charge of €1.80 per car for calculation purposes you would have to pay €10.80 per day or €54.00 per week to get there and back! This is unacceptable. This is just one of many issues affecting the M3 including possible route construction delays and building across the old Dublin Navan Railway line close to Navan without putting in bridges before the M3 is built. Meath needs an M3 now, without delays or double tolls. Visit www.m3tolls.com & sign petition read full story / add a comment

The protest is being called by Residents Against Racism Another protest is planned for 23rd March outside Dail Eireann at 12.30. Two women from Athlone with a child each in their care are presently being brought to Dublin Airport. Some of their kids are not with them. People are being picked up from all over country. Residents against Racism reckon it will be a large number in total and that most likely the Gardai etc have chartered a plane. A Woman from Mill Street resident here for four and a half years who is sick and disabled (she was taken ill at Burgh Quay last week) with two daughters in school here one in primary and one in secondary is in custody en route to Dublin airport. This is despite her having huge support in favour of her remaining from her community. dublin / racism & migration related issues / event notice Monday March 14, 2005 21:48 by Residents Aaint Racism
Today (Monday) saw many Nigerians called in by the immigration police. It appears that they will be deported tonight. Residents Against Racism have called a protest for 1pm on Wednesday March 16th at the Garda National Immigration Bureau on Burgh Quay. (Burgh Quay is the street between tara Street DART station and O'Connell bridge on the south side of the river) +++++ from a report by someone who was in the GNIB offices today.. "Among those to be deported is a 19 year old who has been here for 5 years and is to sit his Leaving Cert in June. He has no family alive. His solicitor was with him so we were a bit optimistic but as we were leaving the guy was lifted and taken home to pack his luggage for deportation." read full story / add a comment
national / politics / elections / news report Sunday March 13, 2005 10:04 by iosaf = O' as if
On the 11th of March, those Irish citizens of counties Meath and North Kildare were called to vote in a secret ballot, as is their right for living in a tippy toppy emergent democracy, regardless of Ethnic origin, Religious Creed, Social Economic class, or Gender. ( but only if they actually live there, and pay or don't pay tax there, as the tippy toppy emergent democracy of Eire doesn't afford its citizens postal votes.) Out they came in their handfuls. Leaping over the primroses and daffodils, pushing aside the lobbying publicans to exercise the rights so sorely won and desperately needed in far off places. read full story / add a comment
