The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) wishes to express its solidarity with the 'Freedom Flotilla', consisting of nine ships, that is currently assembling in the Mediterranean Sea prior to attempting to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza in the final week of May. Among the ships heading towards Gaza is the 1,200 tonne Irish cargo ship, the MV Rachel Corrie, which is owned by the Free Gaza Movement. The ship is carrying a cargo of cement and other vital reconstruction materials for the people of Gaza. read full story / add a comment

The Catholic church has behaved like a cult in keeping women and children as second class human beings who were expected to obey the men of God without question. The influence of this church has infiltrated most Government agencies especially the legal system where once again women and children were often made homeless for refusing to put up with abuse and play happy families. read full story / add a comment

On Saturday 30th January Auschwitz survivor Dr. Hajo Meyer, Dr. Haidar Eid of the Islamic University in Gaza and Sara Kershnar of the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network (IJAN) addressed a standing room only crowd of over 140 people in the Central Hotel in Dublin. The public meeting, entitled “The Misuse of the Holocaust for Political Purposes”, was organised by the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) as part of a high profile speaking tour hosted by IJAN and the Scottish PSC. read full story / add a comment

The Catholic Worker is 70+ year old radical anarcho-pacifist movement of some 180 autonomous communities (mostly in North America) combining the practise of the acts of mercy and nonviolent resistance. The CW houses and projects refuse all state funding. The Philadelphia Catholic Worker operates a free clinic and has a longstanding relationship with the "Mathew 25 -House of Hospitality" free clinic in Haiti. The Catholic Worker delegation presently in Haiti includes CW nurse Joanna Berrigan, radical Detroit Bishop Thomas Gumbleton who has a long anti-war history and sanctios breaking in Iraq in the '90's and radical lawyer Bill Quigley who has longstanding involvement in Haitian human rights cases. The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign took part in this year’s International Week of Solidarity called by the Palestinian Grassroots Anti-Apartheid Wall Campaign (http://www.stopthewall.org). An international call to activists was put out to launch a week of global mobilisation against the walls of apartheid in Palestine from November 9th to 16th 2009. The IPSC used this opportunity to highlight the necessity of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, with specific reference to the ongoing role of Irish construction company CRH (formerly Cement Roadstone Holdings) in the building of the Apartheid Wall and illegal colonial settlements in the West Bank. read full story / add a comment ![]()
