The Israeli "Hannibal Directive" is the name of a controversial procedure used by Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to prevent the capture of Israeli soldiers by the enemy and it says stopping them from being taken prisoner should be prevented by all means including up to killing their own forces. It seems during the Hamas raid on Oct 7th (2023), that Israel took this procedure to absurd levels and killed a lot more of their own including children to kill just a small number of their enemy. Then they used the death of their own by their own forces as the centre peice of the propaganda drive to launch and justify their genocidal campaign in Gaza.
