In an article published in the Irish Times on April 8th, the paper's former foreign correspondent Patrick Smith claimed that the concept of neutrality was obsolete for Ireland. Stockholm Center for Freedom (SCF)'s report “Turkey’s descent into arbitrariness: The end of rule of law”, released on 14 April last, slammed the Turkish state for its abuse of human rights, its own citizens and in particular, its assault on an independent judiciary, vital for a country to maintain the rule of law with any notion of justice – instead arbitrariness in the application of the law in Turkey has now become the norm, SCF says. read full story / add a comment

One would think there would be enough intelligent and discerning people within the lawyerly world of the ACLU to have paid some real attention to the actual many and damning Wikileaks (both before the election and after), as well from real progressives like the Sane Progressive Debbie Lusignan, H.A. Goodman, and equally top quality libertarian writers like Justin Raimondo (and dozens of others who have actually been trying to tell truth against the avalanche of lies coming from both the traditional left and traditional right and mainstream media). read full story / add a comment |
