The Gasyard Feile in association with the Derry BDS Group is proud to invite you to a public talk by Haneen Zoabi MK, a Palestinian member of the Israeli Parliament on Wednesday 8th August in the Unison Building, corner of Clarendon St and Queen St, Derry at 8pm. This is a rare opportunity to find out directly from a public representative in the Israeli parliament how the self proclaimed “only democracy in the Middle East” truly functions. It promises to be an informative and eye-opening experience, and will afford those in attendance the opportunity to learn about issues relating to both the Israeli occupation of Palestine and the continuing erosion of democratic freedoms inside Israel, including the crackdown on the work of domestic and international NGOs. read full story / add a comment

Fintan O'toole penned a rather interesting piece in the times regarding the privileged treatment of Sean Quinn who was imprisoned for contempt for 3 months. Regarding Information about a coursing field that causes many hare casualties. A Coursing supporter rang us today relaying a dispute in the ICC and Limerick Coursing Club as follows. We received a call today from a disgruntled and annoyed Coursing supporter who was concerned about limerick Race track being used as a coursing venue. He must have ran out of options to resolve this scenario if he rang us. We already knew that the Irish Coursing Club had decided last month to move the “Irish Cup” hare coursing event from Limerick Racecourse owing to its unsuitability as a coursing venue. There is however a meeting this week of top coursing people on Thursday, July 26th,at the Horse and Jockey Pub? We are told ‘at which very powerful people within the greyhound industry will be pressing for a reversal of the ICC’s decision to move the “Irish Cup” event from Limerick Racecourse’. read full story / add a comment

A new coalition of thw willing is being prepared by the US to wage war on Syria. That includes the EU as a whole, the EU have imposed sanctions on Syria and sanctions are war by another means. Following its failure to ram through a resolution against syria at the united nations security council last week, the administration of barack obama has intensified its preparations to gather a “coalition of the willing” to oust the government of syria and install a us client regime. The resolution would have imposed new sanctions against damascus under chapter 7 of the un charter, which authorizes the use of military force. The last such resolution by the council was used by the us and nato to justify their war for regime-change in libya. read full story / add a comment

Many believe that London will be rocked by a false flag operation at the 2012 Olympics. Irish Republicans have been on dirty protest in Maghaberry for two years -- the kind of situation that led to ten dying on hunger strikes in 1981. Also, opponents of the normalisation of the British occupation of Ireland are being framed and convicted, locked up without charge or being tried for actions back in the 1980s.
