Jan 27th Deadline for Submissions on Govt Bill to Prevent Citizens Objections to Bad Planning & Developments

The government is bringing in legislation that will more or less remove your right to object to various types of planning applications and will give free reign to developers and private companies to do as they please. The new rules would require objections only from established interest groups that are in existence at least 3 years and have more than 100 members for that time. Fees will also be far higher. This means if someone wants to put a motorway outside your door and dig a quarry in the field beside you, or build a windfarm outside your front window, a sewage works over the wall, then you have to have known about it somehow three years in advance, have formed an interest group and have 100 members, not 99 or 50 or 20 but 100 !

Friends of the Irish Environment are calling on citizens and citizens group to make their voices heard during the submission period to make our opposition clear to the State. The rights of citizens to access our courts goes back to the Magna Carta.

Submission can be made until January 27, 2020.
Submission site: https://www.housing.gov.ie/housing/public-consultation-general-scheme-housing-and-planning-and-development-bill-2019

Urging the G8 leaders to do more to help Africa, is like begging the same people for mercy who represent the inhuman systems. And nothing was said aloud about the origins of poverty, stopping the illegal wars or the taking of the African oil: again cheating Africa out of trillions. read full story / add a comment

Get this. Andrew Gilligan from the evening standard, who exposed the dodgy dossier was caught infiltrating the anarchist assembly. Amazingly few people recognised him. Once outedrecording the meeting - his bag was confiscated and his notes taken after a melee stopping him leaving the building.

We are the mass.
We make our regimes.

the G8 do not lead the world.
Yet their collective malpractise and tolerance to injustice compounds the poverty which their historical exploitation began.

The Irish who were corralled by the police were released finally after about three hours, desperate for a pee, but otherwise unharmed. Some of the other Irish clown army had gone down earlier to show support, chanting ‘you are not allow’ and generally making a fool of themselves in front of the police. Outside the Forrest Café and the Indymedia centre, soundsystems entertained the crowd who drank and danced in the street late into the evening. read full story / add a comment

D’ Bitchin kitchin needs your help…
Those of you traveling to the g8 in Scotland may be aware that the second largest kitchen crew will be traveling over from Ireland. However bureaucratic nonsense has made it impossible for the original bitchin kitchin mini bus to travel, and now today mechanical problems have left the back up vehicle in a similar position.
So can you help? Do you (or someone you know) have a suitable vehicle? The kitchen crew is already on the road so its just equipment cookers, pots plates…
This equipment is desperately needed

the 200º anniversary of the battle of trafalgar in which served approximately 4000 seamen under admiral Nelson and 900 under admiral Villeneuve is to be held today.

It shall mark 115 days since the Queen of Engurland under the direction of very important man, (& don't you know it now? in the meantime) Tony "the antichrist" Blair celebrated the anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar on the 21st of June 2005, a mere more than week since he got the UK presidency of the European Union. read full story / add a comment

Corporate public relations consultant Matthew Freud being in charge of Live8 Ltd. adds more weight to the accusations that Live8 is a mere publicity stunt by the rich and powerful to distract from the real issues of global capitalism and the extreme poverty it increasingly causes.

Freud, a friend of Tony Blair and Peter Mandelson's friend is Rupert Murdoch's son-in-law and Bob Geldof's spin doctor. read full story / add a comment
