A new environmental group is forming the Dublin city area. The network will work to represent environmental views at local authority level. They are currently inviting interested people to attend their first meeting which will take place in Trinity College on the 24th of January. The group is being put together by a number of environmentalists who want to bring people together around the common cause of promoting sustainable development in the city. read full story / add a comment

To commemorate the eight anniversary of the Israeli ‘Operation Cast Lead’ attack on Gaza, and to highlight Israeli’s ongoing brutality coupled with the cruel and illegal siege of Gaza, the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) is calling on people to gather at 2pm on Saturday 31st December at the Ha’penny Bridge, Dublin to attend our annual New Year’s Eve vigil for the people of Palestine, especially those in besieged in Gaza. Culture Night, Friday Sept 16th, will see a major exhibition of photographs relating to the current refugee crisis in Europe take place in Rathmines Town Hall. The event, jointly hosted by the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign and Academics for Palestine, will take place in the Ballroom in Wynn’s Hotel, 39 Abbey Street Lower, Dublin 1 at 7pm. Last night we shot some video inside the squatted Debtors prison in Dublin - the courts have ordered those living here to get out by midnight on Sunday, 11.59 to be exact. The abandoned prison in Dublins inner city has been occupied to be used as shelter and an arts space. The prison lies just behind Capel st, the entrance is on Halston st. Many of those occupying were recently evicted from Grangegorman squat The occupation was announced via Grangegorman Resists Eviction page last week. read full story / add a comment ![]()

This year the Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign Sponsored Hill Walk will take place on Sunday 11th September 2016. This year we will be taking one of the loop paths up along the cliffs of the stunning Howth Head. We will be setting off from the outside the DART station in Howth, Co. Dublin at 12pm, and finishing up with a meal and some liquid sustenance in Howth. The walk will take us along up Howth cliffs, taking in the stunning views of Lambay Island and Ireland’s Eye, accompanied by the scent of coconut from the bright yellow gorse on the heath.
