“You assist an evil system most efficiently by obeying its order and decrees. An evil system never deserves such an allegiance. Allegiance to it means partaking of the evil. A good person will resist an evil system with his or her whole soul.” Mohandas Gandhi read full story / add a comment

The former head of the civil service, Lord O’Donnell has said recently, that it was wrong for Tory ministers to shift the blame onto their officials. This follows high profile cases of Tory ministers making "fall guys" of the civil service in two rather odious matters. Lord O'Donnell said, "What I think is self defeating, is attacking their own staff," he told the BBC Today Programme. read full story / add a comment

Well it is a daunting task for a simple punter like me to attempt to write about Wednesday night's performance in The National Concert Hall by the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig; directed by Riccardo Chailly, Gewandhauskappellmeister; with Lynn Harrell, cello. The concert opened with Shostakovich, Cello Concerto No. 2 in G, Opus 126. Rachmaninov Symphony No. 2 in E minor, Opus 27, was given after the interval. For me it was a once-in-a-lifetime event, the best orchestral concert I ever attended. read full story / add a comment

With the approval of the European Parliament of the ACCA trade agreement with Israel, the EU sets further steps in supporting Israel, despite its occupation, illegal settlements policy and warcrimes This and the EU international role of political, economical and military domination and exploitation of the Thirld World, the inhuman asylumpolicy, the wars in Kosovo, Iraq, Afghanistan and the Trojka starvation of the Greeks, makes the Nobelprize for Peace to the EU a mockery of Justice read full story / add a comment

On Oct. 3rd, 2012 Wired.Com’s (or Wired Magazine’s) Danger Room came out with Spencer Ackerman’s story of a leaked although unclassified U.S. Army “chart” that lists indicators and behaviors for identifying people who are supposedly becoming radicalized to terrorist potential. But what is so startling about this Army’s presumptively rational analysis (more like propagandic analysis) is its broad categorization of symptoms for identifying those thought alienated enough to become potential terrorist material. read full story / add a comment

For 20 days now, while most of the world has looked on in dumb silence, the city of Bani Walid, in Libya, has been under indiscriminate shelling from Misrata militias, nominally loyal to the NATO imposed National Transitional Council (NTC.) These are the very same Misrata militias who dubbed themselves "The Brigades for the Elimination of Black Skins," as they ethnically cleansed 40,000 Black inhabitants from the city of Tawarga - again with the silent complicity of most of the Western media and political parties, including, shamefully, the parties of the Left. read full story / add a comment

What´s going on at the 14th of November? There is a call for a General Strike in several countries and the security services gave a foretaste in the last weeks what they think about it. The radical left in Europe has only one month left to consider something how to operate in this day also in the countries where no general strike takes place. read full story / add a comment

Someone always has some statistics about the West’s failings whenever I speak of Iran or Islam or sharia and wants to know what I’m doing about it… Next time I meet someone protesting against the welfare cuts in Britain, I’ll be sure to ask what s/he is doing about the Iranian regime’s cut in subsidies or the brutal economic sanctions!? And this happens to me all the time and it’s usually from people who do – well – nothing. read full story / add a comment

73 people detained at Immigration Detentions Centres in Bialystok, Biala Podlaska, Przemysl and Leszowola decided on beginning a hunger strike together. It is not the first protest of detained refugees, but for the first time information about a strike reaches the public. In the past, strikers had been put in isolation and punished in various ways, while the public knew nothing about it. Detainees’ demands include: right to information in a language they comprehend, right to contact the outside world, right to proper healthcare, education for underage detainees, respect for children’s rights, improvement in social conditions within detention centres, end to abuse and to excessive violence, end to criminalizing detainees. Refugees decided to strike together, in all Polish Detention Centres, wishing that their voice will not be ignored nor quenched by the centres’ authorities. read full story / add a comment

Paper given at the First Annual Colonel Muammar al-Gaddafi Day School, at the Dublin Offices of the Irish Republican Socialist Party, 33 Gardiner Place, Dublin, on the 20th of October, 2012. The "Arab Spring" and The Seduction of the Western Left I wish to claim, in this paper, that the invasion of Libya set a new precedent in the co-option of Western Left into imperialist adventurism. Following the work of Jean Baudrillard, I will claim that the method used was the age old method of seduction. read full story / add a comment
