Hundreds protested at the Dail today against the government after it's return from its summerbreak.
The day got off to an eventful start with a cement truck strategically driving into the front gates of the Dail leaving only scratch marks on the paint. Unlike previous protests at Anglo irish banks, there were no barricades with a much thinner blue line. read full story / add a comment

The two intrepid reporters approached the Dáil, hoping to have some serious questions answered, armed with a camera and a butt plug, just in case.

A big lorry came and parked outside the Dail in an act of protest about toxic banks. Reporters were later to be seen spinning the story that it had tried to crash through the gates. Later still, politicians were defecating the same thing. We had enough. We produced the butt plug. The politicians seemed to like it.

Not all of us are willing to take it in the arse for the banks. read full story / add a comment

We have spent billions on the LUAS tram rail which only stretches a couple of miles,in the city of dublin, and now we are having to spend a further couple of billion for a project that is over budget and already late for the schedule date! There is a market in ireland for a national connected rail, not just an over budget rail that only stretches a few miles from dublin to killiney..Bus services and train services in ireland are infamous for being uncordinated. There are places in ireland you still cannot get to,and in order to get anwhere in ireland you need a car,to travel, maybe it could even clean up road deaths.

A new book by Donegal community worker Keith Corcoran promises to offer important insights into a rapidly changing world and provide an entertaining read into the bargain.

‘Journey in Wonder’ is an account of Keith adventures through 2006 and 2007 when he travelled through North America and Asia. Keith explains how he came to write the book.

“While I was away on my travels I used to send back a group email every few weeks to let friends and family know I was still alive and to share some of my experiences. Then one day while I was in India, an email arrived from my sister Donna to say that a Donegal paper had begun publishing my travelogues, which was a big surprise at the time! That gave me the idea to start writing a complete account of my travels when I returned home and the book ‘Journey in Wonder’ began to take form.” read full story / add a comment
