We are squatters from the Netherlands. We are asking you to join us in our struggle against the squatting prohibition. We will have two demonstrations this week, on 1st October in Amsterdam and 2nd October in Nijmegen. This week mayor of Amsterdam said that in coming months 200 squats will be evicted in the city!!! If you can not come to the Netherlands please organize a protests or action in your place against the squatting prohibition that starts on 1st October 2010. read full story / add a comment

Cllr. Seamus Healy, Chairperson Save Our Acute Hospital Services Committee, has called on Minister Martin Mansergh T.D. to publicly support South Tipperary General Hospital and to publicly call on the Minister for Health and the Health Service Executive to stop the so-called reconfiguration process. Minister Mansergah’s Fianna Fáil colleague, Wexford Minister Sean Connick T.D. has already publicly called, on Monday’s Morning Ireland programme, for the reconfiguration of Wexford General Hospital to be parked. read full story / add a comment

The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) launched its new Northwest Branch at a public meeting in Sligo on Saturday 26 September in the Glasshouse Hotel. Around 40 people attended the inaugural meeting of the Northwest IPSC. Addressing the meeting was the IPSC Boycott Officer Anne Kennedy, Fintan Lane of the Free Gaza Movement and the IPSC and Fiachra O Luain. Both Fiachra and Fintan were part of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla that was attacked on May 31 in International waters by Israel, resulting in the murder of nine pro-Palestinian activists and the wounding of many more, some of whom remain in a serious condition. read full story / add a comment

The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) are calling on the Irish government to put pressure on the Egyptian authorities to ensure that the Viva Palestina convoy be allowed to enter Gaza with their aid unhindered and to ensure the safety of Irish citizens taking part. The call comes as Irish members of the convoy are being told that Egypt intends to prevent them from entering the besieged Gaza Strip. read full story / add a comment |
