By april 2011,what the new (or not so new) road user will need before applying for their test is £1,125 euros,and a lot of time on their hands,as they will be expected to undertake 20 lessons,after completing their theory test,which will set them back an extra 50 euros. Not everybody passes their test on the first round,and the driving testers,sometimes have the wrong attitude and no people skills,and will just fail you for the smallest slight non endangering mistake. read full story / add a comment

Human trafficing has been dramatically clamped down on in the North of Ireland,while in the Republic we are still struggling to deal with the old criminal gangs of ireland,and not succeeding. And we certainly are nowhere near reform in our police force in the south ,tackling such issues as cyber crime and prostitution in the repulblic it is most definately red light zone,a free for all.. read full story / add a comment

Ireland's largest trade union, SIPTU held a 'dignity and respect in the workplace' day of action on Tuesday 31st August at the Boots flagship store, in Donegall Square, Belfast. The day of action which included the distribution of SIPTU badges to workers in the store, was aimed at raising awareness on workers rights and promoting dignity and respect in the workplace. read full story / add a comment

The Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign (IPSC) today praised the successful intervention by Irish Minister for Justice Dermot Ahern to block a proposed European Commission data-sharing plan with Israel. If adopted, the proposal would have given the go-ahead to EU member states to allow the transfer to and storage of sensitive personal data on European citizens to Israel. read full story / add a comment

He spoke about the CNT’s successes in organising workers in the Andalucía region and about the efforts to rebuild the anarchist movement there. This interview about the legacy of the Franco dictatorship was conducted after his talk at Liberty Hall. Monday 30th August saw the official launch of the Irish Ship to Gaza campaign at a press conference in the Gresham Hotel. The campaign aims to maximise Irish participation in the Second Gaza Freedom Flotilla and hopes to see between up to 50 Irish people - including public figures, members of the Irish media and activists – on board the flotilla. The campaign needs to raise funds urgently to ensure it is a success and is calling on all supporters of the Palestinian people and their struggle for human rights to donate generously and to assist in this effort to break the illegal siege and bring much-needed aid and supplies to the people of Gaza. read full story / add a comment
