Smoggie Queens shows how far BBC comedy has fallen, says Steven Tucker. Let's be honest, there's only one reason the corporation made this awful TV programme, and it's certainly not because it's funny.

Before FAS existed ,there were training agencies in ireland such as MANPOWER AND ADCO..They were services that worked for the people and not for the purposes of furnishing their greens(euro)..

For example,300 people may be required for employment in a warehouse in cork and they would, have people working for manpower and adco, who have the necessary skills to train them, most would have 10+ years experience in a factory setting..

Israel's Hypocrisy

Can someone please tell me if the Ireland has become the new Pro - Israel proxy.
The reason I asked is there seem to be endless letters published in various papers that support
Israel's right to do this, that, and the other, while not coming under any criticism for its actions.
People in this country need to remember that Israel has played the 'hard done by' card since its creation in 1948. read full story / add a comment

Last Sunday the President of Ireland , Mary Mc Aleese, was in Italy to address an arch conservative and right wing Italian Catholic powerful organisation called 'Communione e Liberazione' ( Communion and Liberation )
The question must be asked who was she representing at this prestigious event attended by the right wing Berlusconi Government and by mainly arch conservative catholic churchmen.
Was she acting on her own initiative , had she got permission from the Irish Govenment to address this most divisive organisation and was she being used by this organisation to give it further international credibility. read full story / add a comment

The Galway Alliance Against War has written to progressive organisations throughout the country asking them to become involved in the campaign to stop the mass murderer Tony Blair coming to Ireland to kick off the world promotion of his memoir. On the 4th September Blair is to conduct a book-signing in Eason’s O’Connell St Dublin from 11am-1pm. And the previous evening he is due to appear on RTE’s Late Late Show.

GAAW intends to begin picketing the local Branch of Eason’s in Galway from this Thursday lunchtime in protest and is asking other groups around the country to hold protests outside Eason’s stores.

The Galway Alliance Against War is of the view that Eason’s and RTE can be forced to rescind their invitations to this man who is directly responsible for the deaths of more than 1.3 million Iraqis. read full story / add a comment
