The Israeli state is to release all 680 detained members of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla immediately - although the process is expected to take up to 48 hours. This number includes, according to official Israeli sources, 9 Irish people. It has also been reported by the Irish Embassy in Israel that Irishman Dr Fintan Lane was "roughed up" during interrogation by Israeli officials, but that he is in good spirits - the news came in a conversation with Dr. Lane's father Jim. The Freedom Flotilla was hijacked by Israeli commandos on Monday morning in an attack that left at least 9 passengers dead. read full story / add a comment

We are seeking your input and suggestions for the content of our short courses. We seek input from activists young old or inbetween- details below for how you can share your ideas with us. read full story / add a comment

We regret and deplore the killings which took place as Israeli troops, in defiance of international law, boarded and assaulted ships, and wounded many and killed some of the participants in a flotilla seeking to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza (itself a morally outrageous policy) to bring humanitarian aid. We ask all people of peace to dedicate at least fifteen minutes today (Memorial Day in the US) to silent memorial for those peace activists who have been killed (and we call upon all synagogues around the world to say Kaddish for those people at their Shabbat services this coming weekend), and for prayer for the speedy recovery of all those wounded in this attack (mostly peace activists, but also the Israeli soldiers who boarded the boats with violence). read full story / add a comment

Press Release via email 05/31/2010 Uri Avnery: this night a crime was perpetrated in the middle of the sea, by order of the government of Israel and the IDF Command. It is a crazy thing that only a government that crossed all red lines can do. read full story / add a comment
