international / eu / opinion/analysis Tuesday December 30, 2008 14:18 by Niall
The relentless drive to agglomerate control within a revamped European Union has lost none of its force, despite being pronounced clinically dead by the Irish people on June 12th in a referendum it's government could not avoid hosting. Dead set on simply ignoring the will of the people as demonstrated clearly in resounding No votes in France, Holland and Ireland, the Eurocracy continues to scheme hell-bent on manipulating its desired outcome. June 12th was a victory of the people over profit, but the battle has only just begun. Will democracy prevail? Or will that historic 'No' vote prove to be democracy's last gasp?
