Peace is essential. Diversity exists but it is up to each person to work at making Unity the goal. Let's look to colonial powers like Zimbabwe who appear to have fallen by the wayside. Let us take regard for the need of a Peace Protype/Model that can give inspiration to other countries torn by war. Let us take account of Narcissism and those who act the part of Boss as distinct from Leadership. Leadership is about inspiration. Leadership envelopes philosophy, psychology and a level of Truth. read full story / add a comment

The scale and significance of US military use of Shannon airport has taken on a new dimension with the revelations that Shannon has become part of the illegal movement and torture of prisoners, and the airport's increasing level of use by US military and civil leaders. This begs the question, has the Irish Government done a secret deal with the United States, granting US citizens immunity from arrest and procecution under the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court? read full story / add a comment

What an amazing turnout! No one in their wildest dreams could have foreseen the massive turnout for yesterday's postal workers March organised as part of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) "National Day of Action". Over 8,000 according to this morning's newspapers An Post workers and their families took part in what the Gardaí described as the largest March in Dublin since the Anti war Marches last year. I will try and give as good an account as I can of how yesterday went but ye'll have to forgive me if parts of this are a bit sketchy and patchy as due to the huge crowd I was near the end of the March on Molesworth Street. read full story / add a comment

As the Guardian wins access to court files relating to Alvis (now owned by BAe systems) having had Indonesian Dictator Suahrto's daughter on the pay role. As surveillance & dodgy activity appears to be stepping up around the Pit Stop Ploughshares awaiting trial in Dublin. It may be worth revisiting what gone before. The following web site has been set up dealing with the infiltration by a private intelligence agency hired by BAe to infiltrate the moderate "Campaign Against the Arms Trade" and the radical Liverpool Catholic Worker & Bread Not Bombs Plowshares support. Good to know this stuff, not to be paralysed by paranoia but to remain "wise as serpants, gentle as doves". read full story / add a comment

Disability in general covers the broad spectrums of sensory, physical, learning and mental/emotional disability. Meeting that challenge may carry many rewards for everyone involved in the educational and training spheres. read full story / add a comment

In November, significant Revenue data on tax reliefs was issued in response to Dáil Questions from Deputies Joan Burton, Richard Bruton and Paul McGrath. Last week, as if it was all a revelation to him, the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern said that 'the game is up' for those who have paid little or no tax through availing of the many reliefs/schemes, which are undermining the taxation system. On Friday last, Mary Harney jumped on the bandwagon and said that individuals who earn more than €200,000 should pay a minimum of 20% in income tax. read full story / add a comment
