Quentin Tarantino’s new film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, is a 2019 comedy-drama set in 1969 Los Angeles and features a large ensemble cast led by Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt. The story centres around veteran actor Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), star of the 1950s Western television series Bounty Law, and and his stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt). Dalton is worried that his career is in decline and is reticent to take advice to travel to Italy to make Spaghetti Westerns. Cliff Booth also struggles to get work in Hollywood due to rumors that he murdered his wife on a boating trip. read full story / add a comment

Dear Prime Minister Cowen, Over the course of the past three (3) years, I've written you, Mr. Gormley, the members of Dáil Éireann, the Meath County Council, archaeologists at NUI Galway, UC Dublin, UC Cork, The Heritage Council, The Discovery Programme and the OPW on numerous occasions regarding my research paper, 'Orthostat, the Mound of the Hostages'. http://www.knowth.com/tara-pdf.htm The purpose for doing so was to convince The Heritage Council, The Discovery Programme & OPW to complete the geo-physical mapping of Tara, which I have no doubt will confirm the hypothesis set forth in my paper, that the symbols carved on Orthostat L2 within the Mound of the Hostages, constitute a map of the Hill of Tara, as it existed during the Neolithic Age. ( ca. 3200 BC) The response I received from The Discovery Programme was that "no one here is compet read full story / add a comment

Here is the TSV on Sunday. We are told that destruction will not happen in this valley anymore, we are told that our heritage is safe but my walk yesterday shows that things have simply got worse. Please become involved and stop the rape of our old green land. It is reaching appoint that soon it will be too late. For years now, we have been reading about plans for the Leinster Orbital Route (LOR) or Dublin Outer Orbital Route (DOOR). Earlier this year, the NRA published a Feasibility Report from 2007, which shows route of the LOR passing along the side of the Hill of Tara. Notably, the route goes about 1km north of the Blundelstown Interchange, between the N3 and M3 motorway. However, last week Meath County Councillors were told to freeze planning on a 2km corridor on either side of the route. So, it is possible the route will pass directly through the Blundelstown Interchange, the Hill of Tara complex and the proposed UNESCO World Heritage Site. In fact, it appears that this was the plan all along, and that the route has been chosen before the public consultation even begins. read full story / add a comment

The Irish Times reported on Friday, August 28 2009 that a 9,000 year old fishing trap was found in the Hill of Tara landscape at Clowanstown, near Dunsany, during excavations by the National Roads Authority (NRA), along the path of the M3 motorway. Settlement remains of agricultural, industrial and ritual nature were discovered amongst five man-made mounds, beside an ancient lake. Stone axes, jewellery and even a tiny wooden canoe were unearthed. The finds show once again that the Tara landscape masks an underground world of Irish pre-history, which should have been either left alone, or excavated as part of a proper research study, rather than as part of an archaeological salvage operation. read full story / add a comment

The fight to protect the Tara landscape from the destruction caused by the Double Tolled M3 Motorway took a surprising turn earlier this month. Some 14 protesters, some of whom had been subject to strict bail conditions for the last two years, had cases against them dismissed at Trim District Court. This was a matter of major public concern but it passed silently and without any interest from the mainstream media. read full story / add a comment
