This is a short interview we conducted with Gearóid Ó Loingsigh on the state of affairs in Colombia at the moment after the release of Ingrid Betancourt and after years of the implementation of Plan Colombia. Sinn Féin Environment and Natural Resources Spokesperson Martin Ferris TD has severely criticised a decision by the Department of the Environment to grant planning permission without approval from An Bord Pleanála to Shell E&P Limited for a key section of the Corrib onshore pipeline at Glengad in County Mayo.

Planning permission was granted via the controversial Strategic Infrastructure Act.

The Vaartkom is a squqtted social centre and living space in the Belguim city of Leuven. It was squatted 2 years ago, and has been the central meeting point for the Leuven autonomous movement. Why hasn't Irish medical care caught up with the 21st Century?

Shannon airport and Irish airspace are being used on a daily basis by US warplanes, with the permission of the Irish Government, in contravention of international laws on neutrality, in spite of the Irish Governments claims that Ireland is still a neutral state.

A school of curious dolphins were attacked yesterday lunchtime by a vessel supporting Shell's offshore pipeline works in Broadhaven Bay at Glengad. The Niamh Aine - a pleasure boat hired to escort various work vessels around the area - drove across the path of two of the dolphins who were inspecting the Vlaanderen VII barge. read full story / add a comment
