Sinn Féin spokesperson on International Affairs, Aengus Ó Snodaigh TD, called on people to come out in large numbers to protest against the US Governments brutal occupation of Iraq. The people of Ireland need to send a "powerful message" of opposition to the current policies of the US administration in relation to Iraq, he said. Today (16 June) anti-war activists from the Dublin Grassroots Network placed a hood over the statue of James Joyce off O’Connell Street in Dublin. Mary Kelly has to be in court in Ennis for the beginning of the Circuit Court session tomorrow, Tuesday, 15th June and there will be supporters there with her. Anti War protestors claim Government is violating their rights to protest Bush. At a meeting later today in Limerick, peace activists opposed to the visit of George W. The Irish Anti War Movement along with other groups organising the STOP BUSH demonstrations on June 25th and 26th believe the ban on postering is an infringement of civil rights. Anti-War Ireland, a broad-based national alliance of anti-war groups, is organising the demonstration that will meet George W. Bush when he lands at shannon airport on Friday evening, June 25th. This demonstration will assemble at 7pm in shannon town centre before marching to the airport. Anti-War Ireland is also conjointly organising, with AmBush2004 (a coalition of grassroots groups), a parade for peace from Bunratty to shannon the following day. Assembing at 12pm. Anti-War Ireland has appointed the following media panel for the Bush protests. These individuals are willing to do media interviews on behalf of Anti-War Ireland to explain the reasons for the protests, which revolve around our opposition to Bush's aggressive foreign policy and the military misuse of shannon airport. read full story / add a comment

The Ambush 2004 campaign today released details of their calls for protests against Bush’s visit to shannon. These protests will include local protests the week before Bush arrives, a critical mass 'bikes against bush' tour across the country and two protests in shannon and Bunratty while Bush is in Ireland.
