international / housing / news report Friday July 01, 2005 20:46 by finn37   image 1 image
The Ernst Kirchweger Haus (EKH) in Vienna, Austria was squatted in 1990. During the past 15 years it became an internationalist, anti-fascist, self-run space.

At night Margaret sleeps outside the County Hall in a tent donated by a prominent local artist. Over 3500 bypassers have now signed her petition in support of her demand for immediate housing. read full story / add a comment

The great Housing rip off
Whether we pay rent or a mortgage, the cost of keeping a roof over our heads takes up a huge proportion of our income - those of us who are 'lucky' enough to be in a position to do so. Everywhere we look - both in Dublin and other cities and also in small rural villages and towns - the skyline is dotted with cranes and houses and apartments seem to be springing up everywhere. read full story / add a comment
