Below is a statement released by the Maynooth Schools Group this morning. We are
having a public meeting tonight (2nd December) to formally commence the campaign to
reject the two school model that the Minister and KWETB plan to implement in
Maynooth. Indymedia are more than welcome to come along.

The Maynooth Schools Group met last night and have reviewed all that has happened to
date regarding the new school in Maynooth.

We have decided that we completely and formally reject the proposals of the Minister
for Education and Skills, Mr Ruairi Quinn and the KWETB's plans of implementation to

Kildare Republican Sinn Fin will be marking the 90th anniversary of the execution of seven soldiers of the Irish Republican Army with a commemoration in Kildare Town on Sunday December 16. The Free State Army executed the men in the Glasshouse on the Curragh on December 19 1922. The seven were: Patrick Bagnall and Patrick Mangan, Fairgreen, Kildare; Joseph Johnston, Station Road, Kildare; Bryan Moore and Patrick Nolan, Rathbride, Kildare; Stephen White, Abbey St. Kildare and James O Connor, Bansha, Co. Drain Blocking on Lodge Bog, Co. Kildare 22nd-29th Aug

As part of Heritage Week, The Irish Peatland Conservation Council have organized a week of drain blocking on a recently purchased extension to Lodge Bog, Co. Kildare. The aim of this work is to raise the water table of this formerly drained area of the bog complex to allow for the return of the bogs natural flora and fauna.
