Ward Union still hunting after BAN?

category dublin | animal rights | press release author Monday March 07, 2011 21:18author by Bernie Wright - Association of Hunt Saboteursauthor address AOHS po box 4734. Dublin.1author phone 0872651720 Report this post to the editors

Watd Union hunt confirmed in the Dail by Shane Mc Entee TD

On February 1st 2011 in Dail Eireann, whilst speaking to John Gormley , the Meath TD Shane Mc Entee said ‘The Deputy did not get to ban the Ward Union after all his talk.’ And ‘Its members are still hunting’.

As Shane Mc Entee is confirming that the Ward Union Staghunt are now breaking the law, should he not, as an elected representative in Dail Eireann condemn the blatant disregard of Irish Legislation by the Ward Union.

As part of a group who monitor the Ward Union we can confirm that they continue to hunt twice weekly as they have in the past and as they intended to do by issuing a meet card at the start of this season. When legislation means nothing to officially elected TDs why should they be allowed to represent the people in Dail Eireann.

When legislation means nothing to officially elected TDs why should they be allowed to represent the people in Dail Eireann.

When a cruel practic606e like Carted Stag Hunting is banned why are these people allowed to openly flout the law twice a week?. How are the Gardai unaware that Stag Hunting is banned. ? Amazingly the Gardai twice refused to take statements from people trying to report illegal hunting.

Why should the Bloodsports supporters in Fine Gael bother to try and Repeal this animal abuse when it never stopped anyway. As in the UK it should not be left to hunt saboteurs to implement the anti- hunting legislation, but it is. Complaints have been forwarded to Garda headquarters and the NPWS by ourselves.
