Student Nurses protest pay cuts

Student nurses are fighting the worst of cuts a total pay cut in their training forcing them to work for free for the health service.

Thousands of student nurses took part in protests at 13 hospitals nationwide over government cutbacks. Currently student nurses in fourth year intern in hospitals as part of their training get paid. The government want student nurses to work for free. Student nurses are outraged at this attempt to enslave generations of student nurses.

On the picket line today, student nurses, supported by the IMNO and PNA told Trade Union TV how other frontline workers are paid while they train but are also guaranteed a job at the end of their training.

A nationwide demonstration is being built for Wednesday 16th February in Dublin. The student nurses want and need your support.
