Smoggie Queens Shows How Far BBC Comedy Has Fallen Fri Dec 06, 2024 09:00 | Steven Tucker
Smoggie Queens shows how far BBC comedy has fallen, says Steven Tucker. Let's be honest, there's only one reason the corporation made this awful TV programme, and it's certainly not because it's funny.

Jump To Comment: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8Israel has been playing the hard done-by card since 1948? gee, where did they come up with that? They've only been attacked by their neighbouring countries twice in this time, but, sure, it's all in their heads.
Ireland is probably the most rabidly pro-Palestinian Nationalist country in Europe bar Norway, and you think otherwise because of a few letters in the Irish Times?
"unarmed turkish activists"? Have you seen the video footage? Even the BBC Panorama programme bust that myth.
The saddest thing of all is, that when foreign security forces brought guns to a football match in Ireland, you see that as an indictment of Israel.
Israel today is a powerful country, for its size, but only because it needs to be. It still has not mastered Star Wars, however, so can't really defend itself from the next kind of attack - Iranian nukes. So, yeh, it still needs protection.
''Israel today is a powerful country, for its size, but only because it needs to be''
Wow, thats some lapse in logic there. I cant be arsed dealing with the rest of what you said. I dont feel I need to. Ireland has had a good dose of physical and psychological oppression and we can relate to the Palestinian situation, so your little rant will go unnoticed here (luckily).
Anyway, about Israel being powerful because it 'needs to be' Did this apparent power just appear from the blue sky? No. Let me recommend some reading for you that isn't the Jerusalem Post (ugh, I even feel sick writing that name).
''THE FATEFUL TRIANGLE - The United State, Israel & The Palestinians'' by Noam Chomsky. [yes, its old, but the facts are laid bare]
Not yet; we're waiting for the pirates of the Mid East to return the looted cameras, phones and computers.
But you probably mean the doctored IDF topspin.
More Polly-linguistics from the hasbara parrots nailed to their self-caged perches.
Not pretty, Polly.
Conor, I feel the same about Chomsky the way you do about the
Jerusalem Post.
And, much as you like to think you are, you are not the arbiter of what is logical, nor of whose opinions have merit.
Chomsky would be a bit rational, balanced and forensic for your tastes. He does present so much incriminating evidence to back his arguments and revelations. Stick to your old testament, it makes such a comforting tract to support your claims to the land and resources of Palestine.
And if that fails you can fall back on the Steyns and Krauthammers and the vast throng of paid hacks installed to maintain your delusions.
really?
Because Chomsky opposes the one-state solution (also known as the no-state solution). In spite of this his general leftism is good enough reason for me not to buy a copy of one of his books.
So, to recap - Chomsky= rational, objective and forensic. Right wing writers = paid hacks.
Ok, got that.
I've identified it.
Its one of those failures of intelligence.
You dont read chomsky because you perceive him as left wing.
I thought the idea was to know your enemy.
In other words, Tim, you are criticising what you admit to being ignorant of.
Well, it proves you're not with The Mossies.
Shalom.
makes sense. It was his linguistic theories introduced me to him in the 70's.I dont wait for his oracles, but he has a fair grasp of material and analysis.Lotsa people i detest their conclusions, but their information can be useful. He's a bit abstruse betimes.I hope thats a wird.
