We will visit organisations involved in locking up and deporting Asylum seekers. Let's join the dots in the picture of detention and deportation. Check out www.makebordershistory.org

Monday 4th July

FASLANE BIG BLOCKADE: You can't end poverty unless you end war.** Let's make the links** Faslane, which is situated 30 miles west of Glasgow, is one of Britain's most important military bases - home to Trident, Britain's own nuclear WMD Programme. Thousands of peace campaigners from around the world are called to non-violently blockade the base on Monday 4th July.

CARNIVAL FOR FULL ENJOYMENT: *No wage slavery *No benefits slavery *No army slavery *No debt slavery. A call to bring noise, music, yourselves and friends for action that comes out of our experiences in work, out of work and wherever we live. A carnivalesque parade through Edinburgh, visiting places responsible for the increasingly precarious way in which we experience work and life. To be held on 4th July 2005 in Central Edinburgh. For more info e-mail: dissentagainstwork@yahoo.co.uk

Tuesday 5th July
BEACONS OF DISSENT!: Beacons are to be lit on the hills south of the Gleaneagles Hotel on the night of Tuesday 5th July to send a clear message that the G8 "leaders" are not welcome. Beacons to be lit in solidarity around the UK.

CLOSE DUNGAVEL: As the leaders of the world's most powerful states meet in luxury at Gleneagles, hundreds of people - including families with children - are imprisoned behind the razor wire of Scotland's shame: Dungavel Immigration Removal Centre No borders demonstration to be held at Dungavel on the Tuesday 5th July.

Wednesday 6th July

BLOCKADES: 'The Blockades Group', has put call out to all autonomous direct action groups and individuals opposed to the G8 to carry out autonomous actions starting on the 6th July to blockade the summit. For more info see: www.g8blockades.org.uk. Most likely these blockades will range from small affinity group actions to much larger mass blockades Most of the discussion and information about these will be held on the convergance site in the preceding days to allow people to decide what blockades they would like to be part of.
DEMONSTRATION:A demonstration marching from Gleneagles train station at 12.00 noon on 6th July, via the entrance to the Hotel, to a nearby park has been called for by G8 Alternatives. www.g8alternatives.org

Friday 8th July
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ACTION AGAINST THE REAL CAUSES OF CLIMATE CHANGE: Come to Scotland with your inspired ideas for action and join us on the streets and on the golf courses. Or do whatever you can, wherever you are, to resist the fossil fuel madness and make the dream of a socially just, sustainable future a reality. Stop climate chaos - flood the G8! Friday 8th July. Check out http://cca.movingpages.org/

Dates not specified:
· HILLWALKERS: If the G8 leaders manage to meet in Gleneagles hotel some people will be looking at them from the Ochil hills, and laughing at them, with a big day-glow banner or two. Please do join comrades there for friendly encounters on the hills. A number of walks will take place in the run up to the G8 Summit.

· QUEER G8: Hopes to form a queer bloc to take action together in non-patriarchal style. To get involved go to www.queeruption.org.uk/queerg8

· CLANDESTINE INSURGENT REBEL CLOWN ARMY: Operation H.A.H.A.H.A.A (Helping Authorities House Arrest Half-witted Authoritarian Androids). This summer CIRCA will be working alongside the Scottish police to help them indefinately enclose the world's dangerous G8 leaders, keeping them in a safe place where they can no longer be a threat to the world. Sunday 11am St Nicholas of Myra's hall of Meath St
Come along get involved in fixing it all up!!!

A zone of self-organisation, horizontal decision-making, ecology and autonomy in action.

This is an invitation to a radical convergence in rejection of the G8 summit.

This one of the many projects of the Dissent! network.

While the G8 leaders hold their summit, hidden away in a golf course hotel, a fortress protected by barbed wire and patrolled by thousands of police, we will be presenting real alternative ways of organizing in an open and participatory way, inviting all to take hold of their own lives and take a part in the creation of their own futures.

Convergence 2005 invites all those interested in exploring radical non-hierarchical decision-making and autonomy in action to come to an eco village, camping and convergence site near Stirling, Scotland. The Hori-Zone will be a space for meeting, planning, for conspiring, for practicing horizontal organizing and consensus decision-making. A place to experience sustainable systems that do not bleed our planet dry. A place for building the foundations of the world we know is possible.

The zone is open to all those who wish to see a world free from the shackles of power and who wish to start laying the foundations of a peaceful, just and ecologically sustainable society in the here and now.

The site will operate on a ‘neighbourhood’ system, with people living eating and meeting together. Each neighbourhood will strive for self-sufficiency, in both political and practical terms, but will also contribute to the running and well-being of the entire site. All neighbourhoods will form part of the whole eco-village.

Come, and share your music, your art, your skils, your joy

Bring a tent and sleeping bag (and a sleeping mat if you can), good shoes, map, warm clothes, waterproofs and suntan lotion – you never know!

Hori-Zone will be a place where we eat, sleep, dream, live, love and enact our resistance.
