A Festival of Visual Art, Crafts, Music, and Drama

- Darndale/Belcamp Village Centre -
17th October 2004

The first Darndale-Belcamp EXPO Festival was held today. It was an exhibition of art, photography, film and video work. Their aim is to make this an annual event. The idea for EXP’04 was born from an increasing awareness that there is an enormous pool of creative talent available in Darndale-Belcamp and surrounding areas. EXP’04 was organised by MIC (Media Initiative Collective) and CAM (Computer Action Media). MIC is a community multimedia centre which was founded in January 2001. CAM is a sister project of the MIC project. It was launched last year as the next step forward in establishing a community media centre. The overall aim of the initiative is to introduce the world of media arts to everyone, regardless of age, gender, nationality, or social background.
