This is not art, street or otherwise. What it is, is mindless vandalism, and rantings of the disgruntled few who sponge off everyone else. Publishing this trash is only encouraging muppets to go out and destroy other peoples property. But of course, no one is allowed to own property just becasue the lazy few have decided that owning property is 'uncool'. Cop yourselves on...
An pooka is a small minded muppet. And, unlike pooka, badman, doesn't just throw insults about, he demonstrates why they are valid.
AnPooka assumes that graffiti artists are 'spongers' - well pooka, what's your evidence - none. You don't know anything about the people who do this, so you are just revealing your small mind and prejudice.
AnPooka also claims that graffiti artists destory other people's property. A lick of paint has never 'destroyed' a wall. Blank walls are, in my esteemed and learned opinion, much improved with a thoughtful piece of creativity.
If he was even an intelligent muppet, he would know that the correct reactionary opinion is that graffiti creates an impression of dereliction and a sense of social neglect. Even though he's not smart enough to make the correct right-wing argument, I'll still stoop to answer it. Advertising is far more prevalent than graffiti and rather than seeking to entertain and inform, it seeks to deceive. Reactionary assholes who want their walls tidy and ordered should focus on advertising first.

I wonder if you would espouse above sentiment if someone was to spraypaint your own walls.
Some of the graffiti is worthwhile, especially the "conform, consume" and others like it, although the vast majority is infantile crap that warrants a good clip 'round the ear.

most of this ill agree isnt really art, more statements...some valid...the valid ones would be more convincing if they were actually sprayed with time planning, like a proper tag.
for those who say that its 'vandalism' by smoochers, i say get a life, your only able to express your opinion about this because of the internet, the only way anyone will actually care is if you mosey on down to templebar and buy yourself some cans and spray your opinion over the opinions you dont like :D yano vernacular language and all that malarky.
