The mushroom is one of the graffiti symbols of BCN. And this example is to be found in the Old city in the traditional graffiti grounds of the Oveja Negras (black sheep) collectives amongst others. (hey! it's round the corner from my house!).
For years the bollards were painted as fly agarics, and recently in it's drive to discourage "incivism" and encourage "homogenous black phallic bollards" the Council has started painting them out. But it's not so easy to stop street art. I've a feeling the mushroom will stay now, the use of mosaic is a nod and a wink to Gaudí (Barcelona's very famous architect who used mosaic in everything including the still unfinished Temple de la Sagrada Familia), [interestingly Guadí used mushrooms being prescribed a slightly psychoactive mushroom towards the end of his life].
All you need to do a mosaic is-
quick setting cement a dollop.
and some pretty ceramic stones and a broken mirror. They can work really really well when used along side stencil and pre-prepared poster art. Over a few nights you can transform a wall or space into something which has texture as well as aesthetic appeal, and that do serve a genuine social and political function.

This is not political, this is agitating people to kill everyone who have lots of money. How much money you have to own to be rich? 1.000 euros? 10.000? 100.000 ? Is there somekind of limit, everyone above this should be killed and burned? This kind of fanaticism leads only to another holocaust.
"this city is ours, fuck the police"
Should all policemen and women be burned too? Maybe their kids too? Without police "this city" would be not ours, it would be terrible and unsafe place.

Should Indymedia.ie be hacked too? What about nuclear power plants and their safety systems? Kill, burn, destroy? What happened to love and peace?

i see the other posts on this subject are fairly dated but i wanted to say that i was always led to believe that the N within the circle stood for nazis and the arrow pointing out symbolises a desire to see the back of said nazis. nazis raus as die deutsche would put it
