Campaign Against Household and Water Taxes featured in new book on successful tax resistance struggles

"99 Tactics of Successful Tax Resistance Campaigns" published this month

The Campaign Against Household and Water Taxes is one of dozens of grassroots tax resistance struggles featured in a new book that is designed to help such campaigns to succeed.

The book -- "99 Tactics of Successful Tax Resistance Campaigns" -- answers the question "how do tax resistance campaigns succeed in meeting their goals?" by using concrete examples from tax resistance campaigns from thousands of years of history and from all over the globe.

A successful tax resistance campaign won't limit itself to resisting taxes. It will develop a set of tactics on several other fronts as well: to support resisters, to increase the number of resisters, to frustrate government countermeasures, to influence public opinion, to expand the arsenal of resistance techniques, and to lay the groundwork for victory.

"99 Tactics" explores useful tactics in each of these categories. It also, using the examples of American tax resisters Ammon Hennacy and Henry David Thoreau, discusses how solitary resisters can succeed on their own terms in their one-person campaigns.

This book should serve as a useful cookbook to help tax resistance groups like your to decide on tactics that will help them meet their goals. A workshop appendix (which is also available as a free stand-alone PDF at http://sniggle.net/99Tactics) is designed to help groups select tactics to strengthen their campaigns.

The government has admitted that the property tax will not go to the upkeep of roads and lights for the council workers etc..

Noonan had admitted all this was a ploy to get us paying the property tax.

And didnt enda kenny himself lie and say pre election it was and i quoite ''It is morally wrong, unfair and unjust to tax a persons home''..

They will say anything as long as they get into power, they are corrpupted liars and obfusticators of the truth.

Politics seems to attract (for the most part) a certain type of personality, one who is obsessed with power ,and hearing his/her own voice over and over again..

We have had enough of this already,it really is time for irish people to get up off their asses and protest,i dont know why we got the reputation of the ''fighting irish'',i really dont.

50 Million was spend on water consultants alone..This is where your water money is going on rich fat cat consultants that only come out for one days work to survey..

This isnt the first time we have wasted public money on ill fated schemes, remember the bertie bowl, the electronic voting system or the underground dart?
