Smoggie Queens Shows How Far BBC Comedy Has Fallen Fri Dec 06, 2024 09:00 | Steven Tucker
Smoggie Queens shows how far BBC comedy has fallen, says Steven Tucker. Let's be honest, there's only one reason the corporation made this awful TV programme, and it's certainly not because it's funny.

Shock and Awe - from the December 2010 CABHAIR swim.
Hi !
Armagh , Dublin , Wexford - and now New York as well : Irish republicans in New York have been sponsored to take part in the annual Coney Island New Years Day Swim and will be doing so this coming January 1st on behalf of the CABHAIR organisation. More details at the 'Related Link' , below.

CABHAIR fundraisers will be taking part in the annual Coney Island Swim on 1st January 2013.
Hi !
The CABHAIR Swim in Armagh was held on Saturday last, 22nd December 2012 - the swimmers had either spotted a break in the drizzle and took advantage of it or decided to do it early and get to Dublin for the 25th to see how it's down properly (!) but , whatever the reason, fair play to those who organised it , took part in it and to those who observed proceedings.
A brief report and a few pics can be had at the 'Related Link' , below.
Thanks,
Sharon.
CABHAIR Swim , Armagh , Saturday 22nd December 2012.
Hi !
The 36th consecutive annual CABHAIR Christmas Day Swim in the Grand Canal at Inchicore , Dublin , was held yesterday , as planned , and eight swimmers 'earned their keep' at it , as they had been sponsored to do.
The only issue of concern was when the political police attempted to keep Santa Clause (!) from gaining entry to the Swim site but he gingerly side-stepped them and was given a hot whiskey and a mince pie at the fireside.
Apart from the canal being like a wind-tunnel , those of us not in swim gear thought it was a pleasant enough day but seven men and one woman continually assured us that that was not the case !
A few pics and a brief report on the event can be had at the 'Related Link' , below.
Thanks ,
Sharon.
Two CABHAIR lads find a Mermaid in the Grand Canal , 25th December 2012 !
Hi !
As well as Christmas Day / New Years Day Swims in Dublin , Wexford and Armagh , CABHAIR also had its representatives 'earn their keep' at Banna Strand in Kerry and at Coney Island in New York.
The Fenian Flag was actually flying at Coney Island for the Irish Republican swimmers and was , spirituality , hoisted on high for the Strand lads, too ! More on the Kerry Swim here -

- whilst the New York event can be seen on the video at the 'Related Link' , below.
Thanks,
Sharon.
