In remembrance of 9/11 we are reproducing this important article from the Land Destroyer Report -Indymedia Ireland

The attacks of September 11, 2001 (9/11) left nearly 3,000 dead in NYC, Washington D.C. and over Pennsylvania. The attacks transformed America into a deepening police state at home and a nation perpetually at war abroad.

The official narrative claims that 19 hijackers representing Al Qaeda took over 4 commercial aircraft to carry out attacks on New York City's World Trade Center and the Pentagon in Washington D.C.

The event served as impetus for the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan which continues to present day. It also led directly to the invasion and occupation of Iraq. Attempts to cite the attack to precipitate a war with Iran and other members of the so-called "Axis of Evil" (Libya, Syria, North Korea, and Cuba) have also been made. ... read full story / add a comment

The unsayable in Britain’s general election campaign is this. The causes of the Manchester atrocity, in which 22 mostly young people were murdered by a jihadist, are being suppressed to protect the secrets of British foreign policy.
Critical questions – such as why the security service MI5 maintained terrorist “assets” in Manchester and why the government did not warn the public of the threat in their midst – remain unanswered, deflected by the promise of an internal “review”. ... read full story / add a comment

Since April 4, 2017, violent anti-government protests have rocked Venezuela.

Characterised by deadly clashes between state security forces and opposition demonstrators, vandalism and destruction of public institutions, and the assassination of Chavista supporters, the unrest has left 31 people dead to date. Hundreds more have been injured.

Despite the heavy press coverage, there is significant confusion over how these deaths occurred and at the hands of whom. In a bid for clarity, Venezuelanalysis provides readers with an in-depth and a complete account of the deaths so far below. ... read full story / add a comment

In an article published in the Irish Times on April 8th, the paper's former foreign correspondent Patrick Smith claimed that the concept of neutrality was obsolete for Ireland. In a response published on April 14th John Maguire outlines why that is not the case. ShannonWatch has reprinted his excellent letter in full on their website and it is reprinted here too. ... read full story / add a comment

For those still naive about nature of the US state and it's foreign policy and the sinister and corrupting role of corporate power then this interview of U.S. Army Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson who served at the very top of the US war machine should leave them under no further illusions after listening to him.

Abby Martin interviews retired U.S. Army Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, former national security advisor to the Reagan administration, who spent years as an assistant to Secretary of State Colin Powell during both Bush administrations. Today, he is honest about the unfixable corruption inside the establishment and the corporate interests driving foreign policy.

Hear a rare insider's view of what interests are behind U.S. wars, the manipulation of intelligence, the intertwining of the military and corporate world, and why the U.S. Empire is doomed.

Even though this story broke in early Aug, it received almost zero coverage except on RT.com. Given the biggest thing in the 1990s was the breakup and wars in the former Yugoslavia and Slobodan Milosevic the former president of Yugoslavia and the endless accusations of war crimes and so forth against Milosevic who was eventually tried in the Hague, it now comes as very big news to discover he has been belatedly pardoned and completely exonerated and therefore it is important that what really happened and the role of NATO as the instrument of the Neo Cons needs to be re-examined.

From RT.com: The ICTY’s exoneration of the late Slobodan Milosevic, the former President of Yugoslavia, for war crimes committed in the Bosnia war, proves again we should take NATO claims regarding its ’official enemies’ not with a pinch of salt, but a huge lorry load.

For the past twenty odd years, neocon commentators and 'liberal interventionist' pundits have been telling us at every possible opportunity, that Milosevic (a democratically elected leader in a country where over 20 political parties freely operated) was an evil genocidal dictator who was to blame for ALL the deaths in the Balkans in the 1990s. Repeat after me in a robotic voice (while making robotic arm movements): 'Milosevic's genocidal aggression' 'Milosevic's genocidal aggression'. ... read full story / add a comment
ISIS's flag - flying by now over Damascus if Russia had not intervened

We are reproducing this article which is based on a report from London Evening Standard where the Russiam ambassador to UK reveals the Russians were told by the Western powers back in early summer of 2015 that after the US proclaimed a no-fly zone ISIS would capture Damascus by October 2015.

The importance of this article and revelation hardly mentioned in the mainstream media is how the planned actions of the USA would have directly supported the progress of ISIS and lead to further mass deaths. This is in addition to the direct involvement they already have in training and arming them through their proxies of Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. Indeed the recent huge wave of refugees into Europe are all from countries previously attacked or destablized by US policies. ... read full story / add a comment

Changing US explanations following the October 3 Kunduz hospital attack were all lies – willful deception, covering up a deliberate attack on a Doctors Without Borders (MSF) facility.

Pentagon officials knew it was a hospital, yet attacked it anyway – multiple times for over an hour, killing 24 doctors, other medical staff and patients, injuring 37 others.

Make no mistake! This was a deliberately planned war crime. An AP report said “US analysts knew (the) Afghan site was (a) hospital.” ... read full story / add a comment

Dublin protested last night against ISIS and the support it has received to date from the Turkish state. Global Research article on last March's appointment of Roger Carr,Chairman of Europe’s largest arms firm BAE Systems, as Vice Chairman of the BBC Trust.

Last March the Chairman of Europe’s largest arms firm BAE Systems, Roger Carr, was appointed Vice Chairman of the BBC Trust. Will Carr’s close ties to the arms industry “get the best out of the BBC for licence fee payers” as its mission statement promises?

On the trust’s web site we can read the following:

“The BBC exists to serve the public, and its mission is to inform, educate and entertain. The BBC Trust is the governing body of the BBC, and we make sure the BBC delivers that mission.”

For many years, however, the BBC has been caught delivering weapons of mass deception, lying, censoring important stories and engaging in war propaganda on more than one occasion. Here are just a few articles we published about BBC lies and propaganda: ... read full story / add a comment

We are reproducing this very important article by Brandon Turbeville from Activist Post in light of the constant stream of propaganda about terrorism and the recent attacks in which unfortunately three Irish people were killed including others who are just as important, in order to show that there is a direct link to US government foreign policy. In turn this foreign policy serves the corporate state which are the same forces pushing things like TTIP and neo liberal policies, austerity, social deprivation, worse working conditions, destruction of the environment and of course the creeping totalitarian state.

When researchers such as myself have reported that the United States is funding al-Qaeda, Nusra, ISIS and other related terror organizations in Syria, we were not kidding. Still, despite the fact that even the U.S. government itself has admitted that it was funding terroristsdirectly and indirectly through Saudi Arabia, the suggestion was met with disbelief, ridicule, or either entirely ignored.

Now, however, the United States government has admitted that it funds terrorists on the ground in Syria yet again, this time placing an individual dollar amount on the assistance provided.

It seems the US has realised it can cynically exploit the current Ebola crisis to further increase it's military presence in Africa. Speaking at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia Tuesday afternoon, President Barack Obama declared: “Faced with this outbreak, the world is looking to the United States and it is a responsibility we are prepared to embrace. We are prepared to take leadership on this.” This is, of course a load of horseshit. It's just an excuse to bolster US military forces in a resource rich region. ... read full story / add a comment

The session of the Verkhovna Rada is underway during which MPs are to ratify an agreement with the EU. Too often in these complex times we get just one side of geopolitical events. And a hugely oversimplified colouring book US version depicting who we are supposed to hate and who we are supposed to align with along with emotive reasons for doing so such as "humanitarian aid" or "bringing democracy" or "preventing a massacre by an evil regime" or "weapons of mass destruction" etc etc. A captive media carries this simplistic and cynical message into every home until we are repeating it to each other in the pubs, during coffee breaks at work and on internet chat fora, twitter and facebook. Rarely do we get to hear the alternative to this manufactured consent and cynical propaganda from the other side. So here it is, the truth behind what is going on in Ukraine from Russian adviser to Putin, Sergei Glaziev ... read full story / add a comment
