Justice for terence wheelock Protest at the Dail
2pm Thursday 23rd March

The wheelock family have organised a protest at the Dail on what would have been terence's 21st birthday.
The family are calling for as many people as possible to support this protest.
The family intend to present a 21st birthday key of the door to members of the Dail to highlight the fact that terence cannot accept the key and the family still don't know what happened on the night terence suffered the injuries in police custody which resulted in his death. read full story / add a comment

Radical Jesuit priest Father Peter McVerry puts some of the incoherent anger seen on Saturday to role of police in inner city areas - in particular death ("murder" say wheelock family) of terence wheelock in Garda custody. He says a combination of circumstances was fortuitous for the expression of this anger.

Stories reproduced here – Herald 'ripped off' the story because they did not name Daily Ireland as the source. They referred instead to Father McVerry speaking to a “a republican newspaper”.

Lively discussion on RTE’s Liveline – McVerry very able to handle the “they are all scumbags” detractors and various assorted blueshirts voicing their disappointment at this unlikely turn of events.

With the pressure on the Minister for Injustice McDowell and the Government to tackle the Garda corruption being constantly exposed, an opportunity exists for all those affected by police harassment to push for a genuine independent complaints body. Both political activists and ordinary people, working to expose Garda brutality can have an effect. read full story / add a comment

The so-called investigation into the death of Donegal man Richie Barron has turned out to be a cesspool of all that is rotten and corrupt about our police force; harassment, intimidation and attempts to frame the McBrearty family. Their punishment -a transfer to Dublin! read full story / add a comment
