Kathy Kelly was one of the 51 arrested at the School of the Americas at Ft. Benning, Georgia, USA over the past weekend.

Kathy has contributed much to the anti-war movement in Ireland over the past year. She addressed the "Festival of St. Brigid" in Kildare on her way to Iraq in January. her talk was to have a major influence on the CW5 who disabled a US Navy war Plae the following week.

Returning to Ireland from Iraq after the US aerial bombardment to lead the Afri famine walk. Along with Caoimhe Butterly & the Pit Stop ploughshares she addressed a public meeting at Wynns following the walk. read full story / add a comment

9am Sharp: gather at the "Spire", GPO, O'Connell Street for solidarity vigil with anti-war resisters in jail and before the courts. Please wear black, posters and signs will be provded by the defendants.

9.30am: procession to the Four Courts. Stopping at GPO to mail solidarity letters to peace prisoners.

10am: solidarity vigil outside the Four Courts, celebration and fun(!) after.

On Monday, November 3rd, the five Catholic Workers, otherwise known as the 'Pitstop ploughshares', are back in the Dublin Circuit Court for a pre-trial hearing. The five - Karen Fallon, Nuin Dunlop, Deirdre Clancy, Ciaron O'Reilly and Damien Moran - disarmed a US naval plane at Shannon Airport last February and are facing up to ten years in prison on charges of causing approximately 2.5 million Euros worth of damage to the plane. The five claim that they acted on the Hebrew Scriptural imperative to 'beat swords into ploughshares.' read full story / add a comment
