Brian Faulkner the last Prime Minster of Occupied Ireland like the present autocrat, the unelected English Tory, Owen Paterson was an committed foxhunter. Faulkner lived in Highlands Estate, near the village of Seaforde and surrounded himself and his family like Paterson today, with the heavy security presence of the disgraced Ulster Defence Regiment, while Paterson uses their renamed successors, the Royal Irish Rangers for whom he raised a huge sum of money riding in the worlds most horse cruel race of 1,000 kilometers over 10 days in the Mongolian Derby last Summer. Faulkner who was ultra security conscious had every room in his house leading to another, with panic buttons everywhere. Despite all of this his horse of fenian pedigree got him. read full story / add a comment

Hezbollah leader Sayyid Nasrallah in his first interview in six years, on the world premiere of Julian Assange’s The World Tomorrow on RT confirmed that the Syrian opposition refused his offer to mediate. Nasrallah told Assange that Hezbollah supports Syrian president Bashar al-Assad as Syria supported resistance in Lebanon and “hasn't backed down in the face of Israeli and American pressure.” Nasrallah, a freedom fighter to millions though a terrorist to the ruling classes of US, Israel, Canada and the Netherlands, says Assad’s regime “served the Palestinian cause very well.” This is why Hezbollah supported the so-called Arab Spring in Tunisia, Yemen, Egypt and elsewhere, but ln Syria, Hezbollah urged the opposition to engage in dialogue with President Bashar al-Assad. read full story / add a comment

Jean-Luc Mélenchon of the Front de Gauche is now the third candidate in the French Presidential election, at 16% he is level with La Pen but his trajectory is upward. His standing is sending shivers up the spines of the French Bourgeoisie, fearful of what concessions Edwin will wring from Hollande for support in the second round of voting. Here are two articles regarding his candidacy. Full texts at links. read full story / add a comment

The UN deploy monitors but the US is preparing for a military intervention in Syria. The Fundamentalist opposition have little support within Syria and have publicly boasted of their intent to Ethnically Cleanse Christians and Alawis, this doesn't seem to bother their Western backers. Full text of article by Niall Green at link. Despite the claims of the United States and its allies that they are seeking a peace deal and humanitarian relief in Syria, the Annan mission and the presence of foreign observers constitute a political fraud. They are a smokescreen behind which the imperialist powers and their regional proxies are advancing their agenda of regime-change in Damascus. read full story / add a comment

Its not just a rogue attack from the Israeli Terrorist State thats on the agenda: Obama and his minions are deliberately psyching up the US people with their bellicose statements. Preconditions which cannot be met are being set for negotiations. Israel is being supplied with enhanced missile capability. Yassamine Mather deals with these points in the article below. Full text at link. On Saturday April 14 Iran will attend talks with six world powers. The US has indicated this is Iran’s “last chance” to avoid military intervention and the Obama administration is taking very specific demands to the talks as preconditions for further negotiations: for example, Iran “must immediately close” a large nuclear facility allegedly built underneath a mountain if it wants to avoid a devastating strike. read full story / add a comment

Press Release: CALL FOR IMMEDIATE END TO ANIMALS IN CIRCUSES AFAR yet again call for a ban on animals in Circuses after a circus trainer was trampled by an elephant today in Cork. Our sympathies lie with the animals who are imprisoned in circuses for entertainment. Perverting the course of justice is common practice with un-elected Englishmen on Her Majesty's service, ruling autocratically in Occupied Ireland. For example, as Eamonn McCann pointed out recently; "Former Secretary of State Peter Hain gets to tell a judge who delivered a verdict he disapproved of that he's "off his rocker", while current incumbent, Owen Paterson, orders someone into prison because he reckons we'd all be better off with her out of the way.. read full story / add a comment

The Sunday independent is the paper that defended Bertie Ahern tooth and nail. This is the paper that helped him win the 2007 general election. This is the paper whose jaded star columnist, Eoghan Harris, denounced all and sundry who criticised Ahern and who Ahern appointed a Senator as a reward for his scribblings. This is the paper that today takes the high moral ground with RTE. This is the paper that covers acres of newsprint with hypocritical calls for the heads of RTE staff and for full disclosure. What about full disclosure of how the Sindo got it wrong on the death of Liam Lawlor, falsly accusing the corrupt politician of being in a car with a prostitute. It is the Sunday Independent that has prostituted itself to power in the name of its own power to destroy reputations. read full story / add a comment
