Today, the 22nd of February, the provisional university sent an open letter to the Provost of Trinity College demanding a space for student-managed teaching and research and denouncing the neo-liberalisation of the university. Fís Nua is Ireland's newest political party and was entered on the official Register of Political Parties on 4th Feb 2011. F?s Nua stands for an end to the bank bailout, for social justice, sustainability, a steady state economy, greater democracy with devolution of power and an end to corruption. Cordelia N'c Fhearraigh welcomed everyone to the launch and introduced Cllr. Pat Kavanagh who made an opening statement. Each of the candidates then made introductory comments about their reasons for standing for Dail Eireann. Slavery was abolished in the West after Roger Casement an Irish republican of good dissident stock, kicked up about it. Generally it only continues in third world places such as Africa, South-east Asia and parts of the middle-east. However bonded Labour which is reality another form of slavery, is more common than you think and has been re-introduce into Ireland, which has un-officially become a third world country again. read full story / add a comment

On New Year's Day 1991, I was arrested with Moana Cole, Sue Frankel and Bill Streit, "the ANZUS Plowshares" on Griffiss Air Force Base, upstate New York. We had closed the runway and disabled a scramble alert B52 Bomber putting it out of action for the length of the Gulf War. http://www.indymedia.ie/article/98569 On January 15th., the war commenced at 7 pm with B52 Bombers dleivering air launched cruise missiles at high priority targets.
