"The older more experienced leaders of the SP know that if the Comrades were to take up these policies which I advocate they would come under attack from the CWI leadership. After 25 years in the CWI, 23 as a full timer I was slandered , fired without any compensation or pension, left with hospital bills the CWI refused to pay, expelled from the CWI and refused my right to appeal against my expulsion. Partly this was to discourage others from taking an independent position inside the CWI. As I say the Comrades would come under severe attack. Over the last few months there have been several small demonstrations in ireland against the latest capitalist war to be unleashed on the world. These demonstrations have mostly been localised to Dublin, with calls for a national demonstration going out nearly once a month. The major focus point for objection to this war in ireland should be Shannon but certain groups and organisations have taken more of an interest in building the Anti-War Movement in ireland by organising needless walkabouts around Dublin city centre. While these demonstrations may be in the city that the houses of power and corruption are in they are ultimately pointless. read full story / add a comment

Amnesty International UK say they did not receive two CDs ROMS sent to them on October 14th 2002. The UK Post Office claims that the small packet (sent through the Royal Mail "Special Delivery" service) containing the two CD ROMs was satisfactorily delivered on October 15th 2002. read full story / add a comment

One of the most promising hopes for the future (for challenging systemic state corruption) that I have come across during the past four years or so concerns a media organisation named Indymedia - which provides ordinary individuals with the opportunity to publish their "news and views" globally: and instantly (more or less) - thereby removing control from those who dominate (and manipulate!!!) the flow of information at present. Provided the new freedoms which this organisation offers are not abused too much by those who are that way naturally inclined (and/or otherwise motivated), it seems to me that Indymedia has enormous potential for combating the corruption problem.
