Action to defend Mehdi Kazemi March 22nd

On Saturday March 22nd at 2pm Middle East Workers' Solidarity will be staging a protest opposite Downing Street in defence of Mehdi Kazemi, a gay Iranian asylum seeker who the British government plans to send back to Iran on the grounds that if gay Iranians are "discreet about their sexuality", they will not get in trouble.

The Latin America Week Conference will be a unique opportunity for activists in Ireland to exchange view and experiences with international activists. This year's theme will be the struggle against water privatization and the threat posed by European Trade Agreements. The Conference closes Latina America Week: a week of educational and solidarity events focused on the issue of the private exploitation of water and the impact of this on human development in Latin America with public debates, seminars, workshops, photo exhibitions, documentaries, fundraisers, Club Sandino in Dublin, Derry, Limerick, Belfast and Galway.

LAW Conference will take place on Saturday 12th April from 10:00 to 16:15 at the Auditorium, Park Inn Hotel, Smithfield Village, Dublin 7.
Free Admission.

Dali Jeyran a poliitical activist in Iran was invited by Parents Alone Support Service to speak at a series of meetings in Finglas on the 6th of March about the current situation in Iran and, particularly, the plight of women in Iran struggling against the regime. This course provides participants with the knowledge and essential practical skills to relate more effectively with the media, including broadcast media skills, press release writing skills, and a session around the potential of the new media and creative media events.

The three sessions can be booked independently. The sessions are aimed at NGO Staff and Volunteers who are involved in media management, creating media pitches or who are spokespersons for their organisations/groups.
