Sitting here in Galway today reading the newswire, i can hear military jets (presumably US) flying overhead in preparation for the Salthill Airshow. For some people in certain parts of our world that sound means imminent and indiscriminate injury or death. For us its just a fun day out down in Salthill, naked militarism? no its just Entertainment!.
Once more we are faced with the stark contrast between Reality and the life that we actually lead here ...in cloud cuckoo land.

Dublin Pride takes place this Saturday meeting at the Garden of Remembrance, Parnell Sqaure at 1.45.

The pride parade goes to the civic offices where there will be live performances and music and lots of celebrating.

So be proud, be queer and celebrate been out and loud!

Solidarity with Hunger Strikers in Turkey

Vigil to mark the recent deaths of Huseyin Cukurluoz and Bekir Baturu, both
of whom were martyred in the ongoing Death Fast against the F-Type isolation
prisons.

The protest will take place at the Turkish Embassy, 11 Clyde Road, Ballsbridge,
Dublin on Thursday 1st July from 6.00-7.00pm.

Gardai have given notice to three Traveller families in Blackpool in Cork that unless they leave their camp by Wednesday June 30th, the 2002 Anti-Trespass law will be used against them. They got the notice (verbally) on Monday night. Under the 2002 legislation, their trailers and cars can be seized and sold if the families refuse to move. Some local people are prepared to support TVG in protesting against the eviction, to draw public attention to this brutal practice. read full story / add a comment
