At 08:00am this morning, a team of volunteer Greenpeace climbers boarded a military supply ship bound for the Gulf and set up a peace camp. The volunteers climbed on to the vessel the MV Lyra as it was leaving its anchorage in the Solent. They are equipped with food supplies and protective gear and are in place on the Lyra’s stern ramp.The Rainbow Warrior is also nearby. see website for pics read full story / add a comment

The Irish Anti War Movement are holding a public meeting in the Abberly Court hotel, Tallaght, this evening at 8:00 p.m. Speakers include Sean Crowe TD Sinn Fein, Cllr Don Tipping Labour Party, Donal McCarry SWP and Mick Murphy SP. The meeting aims to launch an Anti War campaign in the Tallaght area, with special emphasis in bulding for the Feb 15th worldwide day of protest.
