Your vote is void, please vote again.

This effectively is the message being sent out by the incumbent Dublin Government as citizens across the 26 Counties are being asked to go to the polls again on Friday 2nd October to be good ‘wee’ Europeans and deliver the ‘right’ vote this time around on the Lisbon Treaty. read full story / add a comment

In order to break the resistance of the inhabitants of Erris to the Shell experimental gas pipeline dozens of people are now being prosecuted. Belmullet District Court is in the second day of a special 3 day session to carry out Shell's prosecutions. But things are not going Shell's way, of the 16 people being prosecuted in yesterdays session only one prosecution resulted in a fine. read full story / add a comment

Berlusconi greets the wife of the US president, she didn't hug him causing a diplomatic incident.

Certain criticisms of Michelle Obama have been doing the rounds of MSM because she did not allow
a grappler within arm's length.

Q: Should she hide her distaste and allow a known grappler and sexist give her a hug?
A: Why did the Telegraph even ask that stupid question?

Back to time honoured sexism , where a Premier who is immune from prosecution, has a mountain
of sleaze behind him and caused an odd reaction in the wife of the US prez gets defended in
the Media because Mrs Obama did not *want* to hug him. It is of course all her fault and nothing
to do with the manner in which he greeted her.

In the first week of its release, “The Lost Revolution” shot straight into the top 5 non-fiction titles in Ireland. This in itself showed the enduring interest in the Official Republicans/The Workers’ Party. This interest was brought home to me again at the launch of the book, held in the Teachers club on September 12, which attracted an audience of around 300, including current and past members of the Official movement, as well as dozens of interested individuals from across the broad range of Republican and left groups in Ireland. read full story / add a comment
Air France, Ryanair, US Warplanes Hercules C130 and Omni Air Shannon 26 Sept09

This weekend, Shannon airport was almost deserted of civilian air traffic. However, its transformation into a WARPORT is no longer just a slogan, it comes close to reality. On Saturday the usual OMNI Air US troop-carrying planes were joined by a Hercules C130 probably transporting munitions to the US wars on Afghanistan, Pakistan or Iraq. An oil-tanker was docked at the Shannon airport Jetty delivering aviation fuel to fuel the aircraft including the warplanes. On Sunday Top-Oil oil company was refuelling another Hercules C130 in the centre of the airport. An Irish Army patrol performed security duties, instead of arresting the potential war criminals.

A few of us may be waking up with a headache this morning but nothing like the one
encountered yesterday by Google lawyers who thought that piracy by any other name
would be tolerated Vis the GBS (The Google Book Settlement).

It's a fine idea to digitise every single book ever published if that is what you claim
you were instigated for; but to get up the noses of the writers and libraries whose
commitment to truth, to their art and to their poverties in the process of digitising
7,000,000 books- of which 5,000,000 were in copyright its another tale altogether.
