My dream began the other night when Joe Duffy - the legend, was on his way out of RTE studios - he said to Derek - I don't envy you Derek, believe me. This f........ insect has caused me and my Lifeline staff nightmares since last March. As we speak the Stroker Fahy is preparing for prison on Tuesday. His 97 year old mother is taking up residence in Galway with a far out cousin of Berties. Does anybody out there remember the Stroker McSweeney? This guy came in from America two years ago under Government approval - as Chief Advisor of Science and Environment to the Government. He turned out to be a Walter Mitty - the phd was created by no less than Podge and Rodge. This man was let go - I ask - Why was he not charged with Corruption too? read full story / add a comment

cork / rights, freedoms and repression / news report Friday March 30, 2007 15:45 by Ray, Gráinne et al.
At 11:30 this morning, ten members of Cork Shell to Sea staged an occupation of Marathon Oil's Irish HQ in Mahon, Cork. Many of the people on the action were dressed as runners, both as a play on the company name and as an allusion to the marathon determination of the Erris communities and the campaign itself. Entry was swift, easy, and unforced. We were inside there for over half an hour before the Gardai arrived. A spirited and good-natured dialogue occurred between Cork S2S members and senior management at Marathon Oil. We left dragging our heels a little, making our departure protracted. read full story / add a comment

The six medical personnel that are to be executed in Libya for the alleged HIV epidemic at the El Fath Childrens Hospital in Benghazi in 1998- deserves a ping. Europe- The EU has called for unity on the issue of what they consider a mis-trial and the EU is not very unified at the moment, especially on Africa. It is not within the Blair Government's foreign policy to accept the EU, it clashes with their own policy of colonialism or neo-colonialism. The ex-colonies are rising up at the moment. Old Europe is clashing with the US/K hegamony and Africa seems to be where the policy of abuse and imperialism is playing out for the Brits. Bush has his own problems with South America. read full story / add a comment

A very disturbing Ryanair advert published in the Guardian tells us that Gordon Brown's tax on flights is just the state stealing from us. It also says that "aviation accounts for just 2% of CO2 emissions" so the tax has nothing to do with environment. George Monbiot must have been pleasad to read the Guardian yesterday! read full story / add a comment
