Hearts and Minds is the Oscar winning documentary about the Vietnam war. Made in 1974 by Peter Davis, the film recounts the history and attitudes of the opposing sides of the Vietnam War using archival news footage as well as their own film and interviews. A key theme is how attitudes of American racism and self-righteousness militarism helped create and prolong this bloody conflict. The film also endeaveors to give voice to the Vietnamese people themselves as to how the war has affected them and their reasons why they fight the United States and other western powers while showing the basic humanity of the people that US propaganda tried to dismiss. There are clear parallels with the racism currently directed towards Muslims that is used to justify the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Lebanon and the occupation of Palestine. read full story / add a comment

Thankfully these men were found out.......Thankfully the police system and legal system could take this to court - to the Crown Court. This is about hard core paedophiles, their fantasies and using websites on the internet to conspire a plan - a plan that would mimic what happened to 'Holly and Jess' RIP, to young girls who experienced a sordid death. read full story / add a comment

kerry / animal rights / news report Tuesday February 06, 2007 09:55 by Bernie Wright
Animal rights colleagues and myself from the Alliance for Animal Rights had teamed up with the Star newspaper when they offered to highlight the pigs plight and we offered to try our utmost to get new homes and locations for the then considered 'inedible' pigs. The Irish Department of Agriculture have killed all of the 200 pigs that survived the accident last week in Kerry. Apparently they are edible and are being used as food, we were told that 11 were killed for supposedly 'humane ' reasons. They refused to give them to us after they survived the accident, we were prepared to help them to live out their lives as most animals do,when fate gives them a second chance. read full story / add a comment
