A story in today's Sunday Independent would appear to reveal an attempt to fracture the Shell To Sea campaign. The story focuses attention on Maura Harrington who (among others) can be seen to be assaulted by Gardai in many photos on IMC.ie e.g. http://indymedia.ie/article/79039 Mark Garavan is quoted as criticising some "unnamed person" as being "violent". I wonder what he actually meant and whether Daniel McConnell understand him to be talking about Sgt. Connor O'Reilly or some of the police officers that were responsible for these assaults http://www.indymedia.ie/article/78913#comment170751 early on in the protests? read full story / add a comment

Scientists who study human evolution have discovered the evolutionary origins of morality. The concept of morality exists in every culture on Earth, but the morals themselves are different, which causes a lot of conflict in the world. Now that the Democrats own the U.S. Congress, I’m sure that conflict is about to get very interesting… read full story / add a comment

national / anti-capitalism / opinion/analysis Thursday November 16, 2006 18:47 by Stephanie Lord
It’s that time of year again folks. Yep, it’s budget time. But this year is a little different due to the upcoming elections scheduled for this summer. Brian Cowen has got his Santa Claus costume on again and he’s going to open his magic sack and give us what we all want for crimbo. This, despite the fact that Bertie has been up to his eyes in crap all year. No surprise I suppose, and from what I make of it they’ll be back in again next term with Labour. Sure with their sluttish ways, it’s quite obvious that if they’re so willing to get into bed with the Blueshirts, they’d jump into the leaba with anybody (i.e. Fianna Fail) and to hell with the “working man” they claim to stand for……but that’s another story….. read full story / add a comment |
