Saturday 30th of September saw Derry's Dunlgoe bar play host to a day of anarchist talks, films and music hosted by the Workers Solidarity Movement. The event which was organised by a local Derry WSM member saw people from Dublin, Switzerland, Copenhagen and Belfast as well as locals gather to discuss anarchist ideas. read full story / add a comment

The Indus Delta faces major degradation threats that could well result in catastrophe. The major cause of destruction of the Delta is the reduction in the flow of fresh water from Indus River. Ógra Shinn Féin was joined by Gerry Adams on Saturday to launch the Dublin Health Rally. Some Ógra activists held posters while others dressed up as patients on a hospital trolley, representing the massive waiting lists that currently passes as a Health Service in the 26 Counties. Saturday 30th September at 4pm near Bellanaboy, Co. Mayo. The Woodland League, an NGO dedicated to restoring the relationship between people and their native woodlands, will plant a native Yew tree between Rossport and Bellanaboy. Andrew St Ledger, the PRO. will give a talk on the tradition of Sacred Trees in Ireland, of which the Yew was very prominent. Mayo itself is Mhaigh Eo in Irish - the Plain of the Yew. This Saturday marks the first anniversary of the release of the Rossport Five from prison. This evening, from 6 to 7.20 PM, 15 Shell to Sea activists picketed the Westside Shell Service Station and we were much heartened by the unstinting support and warmth of the passing motorists, joggers and pedestrians - except for one pathetic creature shouting; "Get a job" and "Hippies" (true). Galway Shell to Sea were/are most appreciative of Sinn Fein and Socialist Party Young Turks who swelled and graced our ranks. read full story / add a comment
