We will be leafleting at the Shell HQ at 52 Lwr Leeson Street (corner of adelaide road) from 1PM onwards.

Shell announced quarterly profits of 6 Billion Euro yesterday.

Today at 11, the "independent" mediator is set to publish his report, even though mediation broke down in the face of Shell's intransigence.

Eoin Ó Broin is looking for sponsorship to shave his dreads to raise money for the solidarity camp.

What better place to look for sponsorship than outside Shell's Dublin office? read full story / add a comment

"For many centuries, we ni Ireland have had an unbroken tradition of each generation having an armed uprising against Britain. In my generation we had an armed uprising in 1916 with the proclamation of freedom of the Republic of Ireland... Here we are rising again, and if we go down, we'll rise again!"

Only a matter of hours ago as writing, one of Lebanon's privately owned TV stations reported that it had suffered attack from Israeli forces & that the same incident had seen Aamchit army base attacked.

This comes a day after UN observers stationed under the UNIFIL mandate in Lebanon were killed despite repeated notification just as if they were Hzb terrorists.

Hzb has a telly station, but you're not allowed watch it, and very keen readers of this website will remember I told you all about how the signal is blocked 3 years ago. You can though if clever with a satellite dish and the requisite software get to see LBC TV, but its probably easier to go thier website.

After they reported the Israeli forces attack on Aamchit, which is a Lebanese army base some 20 kilometres north of Beirut, which is if you really want to know very far away from their "civilian evacuation zone north of the south" Lebanese border. I'm not an expert, but I watch a lot of telly. American right wing telly has said this morning that the USA is isolated and given space to book writers who argue all Europeans and red Chinese are nazis and thats why they support Hezbollah.

This news article has nothing to do with Hezbollah. read full story / add a comment

Independent journalist Dahr Jamail, who exposed how the U.S. used white phosphorus bombs in Iraq, says Israel is using the same tactic in Lebanon - this is now confirmed by the Ministry of the Interior in Lebanon.

Also, according to Human Rights Watch, Israel has used artillery-fired cluster munitions in populated areas of Lebanon. Below are copied extracts from Dahr Jamail's Democracy Now interview (see link) and the relevant article/photos (cluster bombs) on the HRW website. read full story / add a comment

on the 26th of July 1956 Nassar read the proclamation in Cairo by which his popular government liberated the Suez Canal from joint Anglo-French imperialist stockholders.

It was one of the most significant nationalisation declarations of history leading to an attack by French & British troops on Egypt and then their sudden abandonment by the USA. 1956 for many proved the watershed (forgive the pun) which forever locked Britian and France out of their imperialist past and proved their inability to act "on their own" if the USA did not support their actions. read full story / add a comment
