Christmas will soon be upon us, the batteries will wear out, conversation will stimie, the turkey will curl and your spirits with it. Thus no more timely ocassion to remind everyone of the great and noble tradition of Irish Parlour Games. There are many which will brighten your yuletide, and i've thoughtfully made a small selection which will challenge all ages and levels of intelligence. Higgin's fiery denunciatory speech of Irish Ferries and their fellow-travellers in government at march's end at the Spanish Arch or Maura Harrington's (of Shell to Sea fame), collaring of Frank Fahey (of Shell to Sea notoriety) at the end of the demo : Maura asked him how the "consents" (for the pipeline) were going, "fine" says Fahey, "not up in Mayo, they're not", riposted the sharp tongued Maura, Fahey with his arse in Maura's bacon slicer and clearly discombobulated (unfortunately, the posted shot does'nt show it) trying to bollox his way out of the situation by soft-flanneling her with; "you have a strong campaign up there," "yeah", says Maura, "we fight to win, Fahey skedaddled after that - keep running, pilgrim!. read full story / add a comment
