About 120 priests and theologians gathered in Rome yesterday to take part in one of the most exciting new innovations of the Ratzinger "black papacy". The return of the Exorcist. Now like a job in MI6/SIS, languages help, and you probably get more pay than a Metro / Herald AM distributor. & there are certain other requirements. You need to be a priest (licensed minister of public worship Roman Kathurlick style). read full story / add a comment

Alcoholism is a bad thing, right? Anybody who makes any attempt to eradicate it deserves our gratitude and encouragement. Well, that’s not the story at all, as it turns out. There is only one way to do it and it’s the Alcoholics Anonymous way. At least according to AA themselves, that is. Theirs is the only thing that works and they are 100% infallible in what they say and do. Jesus Christ had more self-doubt than the AA. read full story / add a comment

On Tuesday September 22 Local farmer Brendan Kelly, while on his way to his land via a right of way his family have used for generations, found his way blocked by a digger and dumper belonging to the developers of the proposed landfill site in Killconnell. He discovered to his surprise that Greenstar intended to remove part of the right of way and divert him through lands leased by Greenstar to gain access to his lands, in order to build a new access road for the dump. There was no consultation with Mr. Kelly prior to this, nor with any of the other dozen or so local people that used that right of way. Mr. Kelly immediately told the workers that they had no right to work on the right of way, citing his rights and duties under Local Agenda 21 and the Aarhus Convention. read full story / add a comment
